best SF movie since Minority Report

What fascinated me about the movies was the way it dabbled with ideas that have always intrigued SF fans like me. like at what point does a personality simulation become a personality? is there a thin line that separates a machine from a living being? the whole deal about when consciousness occur? and the most important, can a robot interpret the three laws as it deems fit, not as they were intended? That was enough thought-provoking material for me.

I, Robot - Nothing great

I cannot imagine what Jaswant really liked about the movie. I just saw it on big screen and felt disappointed. True, the special effects were great n rivetting, but the same can be said of a lot of stuff churned out by Hollywood nowadays (another one coming soon is "The chronicles of Riddick" The movie left a lot desired. Humor was of course not its strong point and to think that only in 30 years time science would be so advanced is a little too hard to believe. maybe 2075 would have been a better time frame. Anyway, with the huge budget that went into it a lot more could've been achieved. Esp. when will Smith himself is the executive producer

Robots and Cheese

I suspect Asimov is turning in his grave while Will Smith and Co. butcher his brilliance. Will Smith comes across as a cheesy, smart-ass movie star who spouts one-liners to get the story moving. "Let's kick some robot butt" would sound cool anywhere but not parodying the genius of Asimov's creations. Asmimov deserves sensitive, intelligent treatment that only Kubrick (then) and Spielberg (now are capable off.

As for Susan Calvin's chemistry with Detective Whatshisname.. how could you even suggest it? Are you insane?? Dr.Calvin isn't a bazooka-wielding femme fatale!! She is more important that Will Smith's character. Very very sad.

I,Robot is a Piece of Trash Movie. Please don't watch it! Ridiculous special effects for a completely gone-wrong story.

Any movie, seen on pirated video will be a piece of trash. But believe me when I say that this movie is awesome. It has a very interesting thoughts on the relationship between technology and us Humans. I loved the way the scientist used Will Smith's prejudice against robots to help him solve the mystery.
The special effects are bloody Awesome. But true, there could have been more humour but then again, it would have served as a deterrent to proceedings.
Like i said, any movie seen on pirated video will be a piece of trash... iam assuming Mr Ravi, that this should clarify a few things..
