CHETAN
fantasy movie
by CHETAN on Aug 04, 2004 01:18 PM

the film has a different kind of pschyological analysis pertaining to the impact of pschyosocial constraints on a (effeminate, pussilanimous)guy.don't take it as serious.

And, the movie is from.....
by Ravi on Jul 27, 2004 06:44 PM

And the movie is inspired from 'Hollow man', with Kevin Bacon instead of Tusshar Kapoor, who also falls for the 'Samne Wali Khidki' girl, I guess.

poor imitation of hollywood movies
by prashanth on Jul 26, 2004 05:21 PM

I see that many people are praising RGV for this "innovative" idea... but if u ever c holywood movies of similer theme, u ll realise the professionalism present there. We dont have to show pity on anyone just because they have spent some effort. Let them compete with the world class movies.

Leave competing..... cant we produce a movie with own dialogues..... its shame that some dialogues are also being copied from 'spider man'......

Reason
by Chakravarthy Akella on Jul 23, 2004 05:16 AM

I feel the reason of the movie being flop is the overacting of antra mali.
Have you ever observed that her facial expressions? they are too much!
Morover she tries to move her head in sudden jerks thinking that it is cool . It looks so supreficial and unnatural that people tend to hate it.

overall a good movie
by prashant chauhan on Jul 19, 2004 10:35 AM

does anyone notice, tushar has started acting .... which is a good sign, the film has everything perfect for except miss JLO... (antra mali) and a bit of overexagerated background score.. ...
the movie actually brings out all sorts of emotions like love... anger... pain... humour...revenge... and moreover a true story cause given a chance to a normal human being he wouldnt at the begining go out of the way and save the world... he will be selfish... definately.. and that is what is exactly shown... which most of the people dont want to see and dont like (come on guys grow up). and also the way mr tushar kapoor has exactly fitted himself in the mould of VISHNU BHAI... looks perfect. the best performance was definately RASHIKA JOSHI .... the mom of VISHNU... excellent, she is just fabulous as the mother .

and yes how can we forget the superb Computer Graphics (special effects) i personally liked the shots whn vishnu bathes after being invisible and his profile created with the help of splashing water.

like darna mana hai, gayab has also been a techniaclly perfect movie... the director Mr prawaal raman has made special efeorts to keep his ideas conveyed techinally

Well said, Mr. Reviewer
by Arun nayar on Jul 19, 2004 02:31 AM

For once the reviewer is right on spot, this movie drags big time and doesnt have any purpose, it fails as an entertainer or a serious film, Tushhaar has matured but everything else is a big letdown, I wonder how RGV came to be associated with this pile of crap...

A Good potential gone waste
by dipankar on Jul 19, 2004 01:55 AM

The movie had a great potential but it seems that the director had a tough time deciding if he wanted to make a comic book chararcter with a chance for a sequel or just a fun filled movie.
Another glaring loophole to me seems that the director is unmind ful of the target auduience which is certainly divided between the kids who enjot such comic capers and the others who are there to watch Antara Mali, Tushaar is not bad but it seems that it would take eons before he has made a mark, Anatara Mali is a glam doll and no more . Tushaar's father played with fineese by Raghuvir Yadav and Govind Namdeo as the stupid and cunning Police cheif are the face savers for this film.
I wonder why is the bg scoreso loud and atrociously inane at most of times??
I would recommend that the fair sex take a ear bud or two..
And about the charcter of the hero's mother.., the less said the before.
thanks
PS: go for if you have absolutely no other work at hands and if youn suffiecient time to sleep and forget it as a nightmare.

Gayab - worth a watch
by kartik on Jul 18, 2004 06:56 PM

how many times does a movie with such a rare subject comes in bollywood? The movie scores just on its innovative idea of depicting invisibleness on the screen for 2 and half hours. Its different and its totally paisa vasool movie. One cannot just turn down a Ramgopal Verma movie by sighting some damn flaws in the movie. Ramu's movie are worth a watch & his movie contains new ideas, fresh thinking, full entartainment, humour at right places & what else do you need. All the critics love watching SRK's love-song-dance-fly & cry type of movies. Grow up guys, when will you learn to appreciate the genuine efforts of a director who tries to craft a different genre of movies by sheer innovative thinking & entertains you. Full marks to Ramu & his Factory Production's team
