Sequel works only if films are fiction based... perhaps even which are more Fantasy based...something larger than life... ie films like spider man, harry potter etc. here people like to watch it coz every sequel has a different story line...something more adventurous. The same would not work with movies which are emotion based. If we start making sequels for films like MBBS... I dont think it will work the way it worked for the 1st one.. Hera pheri might work coz its a total different story line with sensible comedy and people would definitedly like to see it with the hope that it has a new storyline and new adventures..
Making sequel to bollywood movies is nothing but mission impossible-3. First of there is not a single script possible enough to be sequelize. secondly story writer never wrote keeping in mind that a sequel can be made to the current script... thats simple..
Some very valid arguments were brought up in this article and like the author I'd like to see a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna & Jaane bhi do Yaaron. Sholay I think is best left untouched as it will be difficult to recreate that kind of atmosphere in todays times.
The article was a good read and am forwarding this to all my contacts. Keep the good work going. ;)
how about sequel of K3G. AB and Jaya Grandparents, two sons and two daughters of SRK and Rhitik. So 4 love stories, double body show, double business, four helicopters, and most importantly two extra ladies for rona dhona ...Grand hit. And then Hum Apake Hain kon ...I think older brother needs to remarry right...how about remarriage of Alok Nath as well ... more songs and more fun.
