Greetings Raja The character that Brando played in "Apocalypse now" was Colonel Kurtz and not sergeant kurtz. Anyways I agree whole heartedly with the article extolling the genius of the man. Colonel Kurtz was probably the most chilling character I have ever seen, the part where he tells Martin sheen about the Viet Cong guys cutting of the arms of small kids is just terrifying but a fantastic piece of cinema.
Indeed, a true great! If ever there was one who consistently used his genius to convince people of the true capability as an actor, this was the man. Raja, by the way, in "The Wild One" he says "Whaddya got?" not "What've you got?" ... and he says it almost instantly with all those emotions that you perfectly elucidated. But the genius of the man was that he took a fraction fo a second to produce all those in a fleeting moment.
Did you know that Marlon Brando's first wife was a calcutta born woman named Anna Kashfi who he divorced in 1959 ... And his famous son, Christian has an Indian Lineage!
