hmm?

I dont understand why some of the folks are taking here personally? Whether rehmand produces "atleast one" big hit every albumb or not the fact is music of Lakeer is nothing but a BUMMER. Now does that make Rehman bad music director? NO . Does that make Lakeer a bad album? YES. So whats the fuss? Its about music of the movie not about Rehman and its definitely true that he is off the mark in this album.

Lakeer is for sure disappointment
by Syam on Jan 27, 2004 01:41 AM

I heared songs of Muskaan and Lakeer and must say I was disappointed with its songs. So I guess I will have to wait for Rehman's next movie to hear the magic. I personally wasnt able to keep attention on even one single song in Lakeer. As far as Muskaan is concerned, well I'm not disappointed because I never had any expectations from it!

My ratings:
Lakeer: 2/5
Muskaan: 1.5/5

Rahman Rules
by Brat on Jan 24, 2004 07:49 PM

So what if he's taken his own Tamil tune and converted it to Hindi? The man is a genius for converting a tamil tune to a Bhangra tune... And three of the songs in the movie are amazing!

Rahman is one music director who produces at least ONE hit song in each of his albums - Name any other music director who's capable of that?

Review of Lakeer.
by Saju on Jan 24, 2004 07:46 PM

The person who wrote the review seems to not have done his/her homework. The sound track of Lakeer is great!!! Though 3 songs happen to be rahman's earlier works in tamil it does work in hindi...

The music is definitely taken from rythm ( the music was a big hit). It is disturbing to read such reviews about A.R. who is associated with big projects like LOTR

When will he stop this?

again a neat transfer frm Tamil to Hindi from rahman. Usually it happens the other way. Y not he use his creativity to give some fresh songs that fit in the film. Else, y not the directors go to some other MDs who give them fresh songs. Even Rahman's Bombay dreams is nothing but rehash of his own Indian film songs. So, don't be surprised if u happen to hear Lakeer again in tamil. I am not joking, Bit Rahman did this one time - Tamil to telugu and back to tamil.

When will he stop this

I donno why these reviews say it is not good considering Rehman Standards. IF the same meusic is scored by Anu Malik, will they say it is good. I don't understand y critcism becomes nil when it comes to Rehman' albums. And he cleverly uses this and does nothing but transfers 5 years old tamil albums to hindi and vice versa. Why don't the directors go for fresh songs that actually fit in their films rather than the readymade boring songs. Don't be surprised if Lakeer is rehashed again in Tamil because this had happened already - tamil to telugu back to tamil. I may sound harsh, but u need to listen to same songs in 2 different languages to understand.
