the ideal guy to play rama on big screen also will be Arun Govil since the people go with his image after the success of ramayana on TV but this should have been done 15 yrs ago but now I guess he is too old for the role..
It would be a shame for Lord Rama if he(Salman) is acting as Lord Rama. Lord Rama is not just a god to the Hindus but he is also a normal human being,a raja, an example for honesty, an example for simplicity. If one has to act as a Lord Rama,one needs to be pure by heart and one needs to have a good soul. In my opinion Salman doesnt posses anything other than poor people's curse and sins that he has did in his life. Religion is not important but ones character is important as this is public and Iam very sad that our industry with such great actor is portraying Salman for this role. This would be a greatest blunder. I agree he the mischief kid is handsome and has got the charm but it would be wrong as this is a spiritual role and one needs to be spiritual,honest,pure and should posses character. This can be a Hindu,Muslim or a Christian. I pray to god that atleast after acting as Lord Rama let this guy(Slaman) become good. Venkatesh

Well, in that case, let's find the most perfect person on earth who has never committed any sins in his life and give him the role...but then we should worship him also...! You only need to look at the physical similarities and acting capabililtes when casting an actor in a role. Since non of us have actually seen Lord Rama, only the second factor counts!

I think you must be jealous with him otherwise what is wrong in salman .Its a great thing that he wanted to make a good film based on hindus vedas.
There is no star currently in Bollywood who can do potray the role of Rama in a decent fashion. Ramayan in an epic and the idea to cut it short into a 3 hour movie itself is questionable. (not impossible for bollywood directors though!). You can probably get some new actors who have some experince of theare acting and very strong comman over dialogue delivery. You dont need a star actor to make Ramayan. It will be a hit if made properly with any cast.
On a note not related to Salman Khan's role. Your comment on Aishwarya, 'Aishwarya Rai will surely do justice to Mumtaz Mahal in Bharat Bala's IMAX film, Taj Mahal.', sounds like you presume Aish is a brilliant actress when compared to Salman or other stars in bollywood. She is only as good (or even worse) than the others around her.
no he wont fit as Rama becoz in history Rama was mentioned as person with ht of above 6 feet with plesant feelings but salman suits only for modern roles not of old ones
Can Salman play Ram? If he just has to stand and show muscles, it is a good shirtless show from start to finish. If one expects some sort of performance, and if the role requires any dialogue delivery in shudh Hindi, leave Salman out. The guy cant even say a simple name like Arpita properly, how do you expect him to deliver any proper dialogue in Hindi. Salman Khan is a lucky actor for shining in films without any talent to act. After 15 years or so acting behind his name, I was surprised see him perform the way he did in Baghban. I was surprised by his inclusion in this movie, & am sure not to support Mr. Bachchan who churned in one of the best performances of his career, but I suspect to lure Salman fan clubs. Now it is even sadder the actors dont recognize their own lapses. Leave religion out of it. An actor is an actor and he should be able to act as a woman if that is what the role demands. All these new crop of actors need to polish their language skills. While they are at it, may work at their English accent, since they insist on speaking English so much. Must learn to discern between US and British accents.
yes , i think Salman Khan will make a perfect Lord Rama. i saw one of his snap in wardrobe of Rama and i just couldn't recognise him 4 a sec. he looks just perfect in that makeup. and remember the part he played in baghban. he was just perfect in that innocent & obedient son's role. am sure, he will make it the best.....
i think they should change the title of this movie if they can make rama ka kalayuga with salman then the movie can make some sense.... Affect of real life into reel life always come into picture.. in real life people run their cars on public, humilate people of respected families in night time by using slang language after drinking alcohal.. really he can represent "rama of kalayuga"..

dear mr.kapil, are you running a paralel court for justice, since the case on accident is neither over in indian court of justice & human being are prone to do some unthoughtful things what we call accidents, so dont give your opinion based on some magazine reports, as far as the call made to vivek oberoi is concerned , since mr.oberois films are not doing well he needed publicity to stay in the film industry. as far as ashwarya is concerned she dont deserve salman.ok so sdont poke or give opinion about something your are not well aware of.
