This is absolutely great movie. I should say that Shahrukh and gayatri has done a great job. On top of that Ashutosh I think this is the best movie i liked from you. Thanks
I watched swades movie on second day of realease. I am deeply hurt in "Pal Pal hai" song.
1) In that song, Rawan character asks why u take "Ram naam" and Sita replies kshama. WHY? It is a great tune and I am hurt due to lyrics asking kshama.
2) The way heroine role is dressed for Sita role. I am greatly hurt due to this. Ramanand sagar ji has made Ramayan which is still a master-piece becoz people saw GODS in those roles not the people who acted in it. Look at the TV serials now showing some mythological stories. Everybody is doing samething. I dont know why some organisations like RSS dont look up at these issues which are atleast somewhat important rather than shouting on irrelevant issues.
Hi ashutosha,i watched your film swades.like the performance of all characters except 'gayatri joshi'.she played her part well. but either you or she could not give any sweetness to that character.so she always looked stufy on screen. shahrukh khan was good.but the impression i got after the film is over was ,it is a documentary and not a film.it has no punch.it doesnot built any expections in the viewers. But it is a very good documentry and every body should watch it.

Hi! We've to understand the original message the director/film wishes to give. The theme and message is much more important than any other part, if it is achieved, the film is SUCCESSFUL.
swadesh is a well made movie.It gives agood message to those who are so busy earning abroad that they have forgotten where their roots are.Only a certain class of people could really understand as well as enjoy it.Many viewers have put it in the category of art movies because sometimes it is very slow.
my interest in "swades" is manifold,my father bein' a utv distributer,having met MAKARAND DESHPANDE in the old theatre festival but primarily it is the theme and the music which fascinated me,which would have driven me to the theatre even if all these factors din't exist..i wish the whole team best of luck..keep up the good work.
sounds interesting, must see for everyone, need not be compared with Lagaan or any other film for that matter, we expect to see hatke films in future from you ashutosh.
I am really eagerly waiting to watch yet another worth watching movie from Ashutosh after Lagaan. But I always wondered why it is "Swades" and not "Swadesh"?
