Review of Bewafaa
by Ulhas Shirke on Feb 25, 2005 07:52 PM

Film lovers go to watch movies when they are lured by the ads and promos. Especially, when the cast is good. But, many a times, they are disappointed. Dharmesh Darshans latest film Bewafaa falls under this category. If someone has gone to see this film, looking at the success of this director in Raja Hindustani and Dhadkanthen it is more disappointing. What exactly happens in the films story is all predictable right from the beginning and hence there is nothing to surprise the audience in theatre. As it is, Bollywood is facing a shift in the taste of the audience, who is looking for new subjects.

Bewafaa, offers the same old wine in a new bottle and that does not satisfy our audience who have changed their taste. The same old theme of 60s and 70s is repeated here too.
Havent we seen these plots in the past in old movies like Gumrah in 60s and many others that followed . Why go back, we saw it somewhat in the last years release Murder. But, those movies at least had some substance; but, Bewafaa offers nothing to impress the audience

WHy dont u guys get ur critic's ears checked before giving them cassettes to review...if Lata sounds 'jarring' in 'kaise piya se' then God alone knows what is melodious...a brilliant track has just been wasted by a high handed reviewer again. Sigh!

This lady is getting toooooo much she is reviewing both movies and music without a clue of what she's doing. Please ignore her reviews as they are the worst that i've ever read.So funny and amateurish she is ripping off evry movie and music album without any logical detailing.Rediff should get quality people to
deliver quality reviews as analytical skills cannot be taught to insane.

I really like the sixties feel of Nadeem Shravan Music.
The music of "Tere Naam", "Murder", "Kasoor", and more recently "Tumsa Nahin Dekha" was treat to ears.
Lata Mangeshkar is still the greatest was great in Veer Zaara.
AR Rahman although an outstanding musician is quite predictable and his melody always is similar sounding. one question - why do AR Rahman's songs (though he does not write those) have Piya Piya in the lyrics.
