Lataji has enthralled the people not only in India but also around the world with her songs - scintilating and melodious - and it is indeed rare that people of three generations still enjoy these ! We wish her a long life and good health.
Who can forget the patriotic song sung by her which moved Jawaharlalji to tears? She, and her counterpart in the field of carnatic music, Smt. M.S. Subbulakshmi, are household names in our country, and are really our Bharat Ratnas. I remember the musical concert of MS, presided over by Shri Jawaharlal Nehru, in which she descibed her as the 'queen of music'. The fragrance of their music will ever remain in the hearts of all.
May these two priceless jewels of India always receive the Divine Blessings is my prayer to the Lord.
Staying alone & away from home in a different country especially is a tough task but one has to accept it to fullfill his dreams. This difficulty is some what reduced for the Indians thru the songs of lata didi.. I guess most of the NRI's will agree with me on this !!!
