In my view it depends on the individual.we have a number of both successful and unsuccessful models in the film industry.If one is determined,dedicated and have ability to nurture his/her talent and accomodate himself in indian film industry he/she can survive.
Yes definately models can act. Model is also human being, so the media think the can act. Models like Aishwarya, summita, Juhi chawala etc....... shown that models can act. Dont seperate them considering as models than as actor or actress.
Nop, none of the models can do acting,all filmy viewers know how aishwariya acts...how many hit movie she gives???, so others too. all models can not do proper acting it just a Fame and I belive producers like that too and they wants instant CASH from audiance. and that is the only reason they used these models. such like Bipasa,Ash,Susmita,Kaiff,and So on.
If you look at the name that has been provided, the successful actors/ess is Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen. You can argue about Bipasha Basu, Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra, as they have box-office success, but are they good actors no way.
Look at the actors: Deepak Malhotra, Marc Robinson. Do u really remember them acting in any film? Well not really. They are basically one film wonders. Deepak Malhotra Lamhe, Marc Robinson Bada Din, typical came-and-gone scenario.
I personally feel acting is relatively tough for models....Models are generally emotionless on the ramp....so to venture into films and Television and make a career in acting is a difficult proposition....
But some of them have shown they can act....famous examples being, Aishwarya Rai, Milind Soman, Sushmita Sen, Arjun Rampal to name a few....
