Wasted talent

Naseer's continued outbursts against parallel cinema isn't helping anyone, neither him nor the film industry. I am no one to say this but he should snap out of it somehow, else it's just talent wasted down the drain.

Naseer ...
by Raghu on Sep 12, 2003 07:31 PM

Naseer is certainly one of the better actors our country has produced. But I recently saw one of his movies "Encounter - the Killing" I could not even finish one hour of the film. I do not know why an actor like Naseer needs to do such a movie? I was really disappointed at his selection! The movie was directionless and heading nowhere!! My sincere request to all movie fans to avoid the movie if you plan to see it!!

naseer's article
by sandeep varma on Sep 12, 2003 04:10 PM

I think Naseer is truly one of the greatest actors produced by India. And he continues to prove it again and again, which is great because after a while, most creative people lose their edge, which he hasn't.
But he should stop trashing filmmakers who did great work in the first place like Kundan Shah. Why doesn't he trash people who have never even tried. What does a Kundan Shah do when there are no backers for his kind of films. Filmmaking is expensive, and you need people with money to back such a project. NFDC which backed such films earlier, is changed its view now. Who does a filmmaker who wants to do great films like this, go to with money? As a young filmmaker myself, I know the kind of problems. If Naseer wants to see such films made, he should use his network of contacts to raise finance for such films.
