I read the book. I can write the script in my head. Think about it. Shyamalan features water in each of his movies. What better way to show this than by sticking a kid in the mddle of the Atlantic? Also, Shyamalan is known for emphasizing religion, the way Spielberg emphasizes a child's point of view. There is no better character than Pi Patel, a practicing Hindu, Christian, and Muslim. It has elements of horror in it, the suspense throughout is menacing. Then you have a great Shyamalan ending, similar to that of the Village. I hope he goes to Pondicherry. It would give it an authentic feel and Shyamalan would put more heart into it, being that Pondicherry is his hometown.
I the movie has got a small theme which narrated in very simple manner. It is that suspence that make the viewer sit back in the theater even the first half is so draaaaggginggg...
I thought hollywood murduring Azimov in "I Robot" was horrible. Now the man who has made three of my most hated films is making a movie about one of the best books I've ever read. For the love of God, please do not let this happen! Aliens allergic to water invade the big blue planet. The principles that run comics run the real world. The monsters don't even exist. What now? There is no boat? It was all a dream? Pi is really a hommicidal murderer and is recounting the story from death row? Please! Please! Please! Do not let him ruin this.
It would be gr8 2 c Mr. Shyamalan direct somethin other than a supernatural thriller. I really think he needs to shift from his genre and tis is a perfect opportunity. He can rally be taken seriouslee and add to his mass appeal.
