With due respect, Dr. Kalam, Tendulkar, Kalpana Chowla really do not count as Indians who made us proud. There are dozens of other luminaries from Literature, Science, Administration, Art and Sports industry. It is sad the Amartya Sen, Gavaskar, Makbul Fida Hussein, Prof Narlekar, Vittal, the ASHA founder missing from the list. Arguably; these things are just a pass time but still there has to be some sensibilities to select these names. Dr Kalam with all due respect - his achievement was not all that great. Tendulkar - well seldom proved a point when it is required and that too playing a game which is hardly popular round the globe. Kalpana Chowla - less said is better as what she did for India. Anyway - just my 2 cents.
I for one couldn't care less someone else singing songs as a birthday present. It would be a treat if someone were to create new compositions and have the Birthday recipients sing them on a special album for their fans.
