Finally someone of repute has stood up and said what millions must have thought about ! This is our best opportunity to rebrand our film industry and India Inc.
"Bollywood" is so unnatural, unIndian and reflects utter lack of creativity. It also does not portray the breadth and depth of our culture and the talent pool within our Film Industry. We are so enamored by the West.
We have a lot going for us and yet have not figured out packaging, branding and marketing our best products and creations.
I suggest that we have a contest and brand our Film Industry -- a brand that will project our culture, Indianness, creativity and depth of talent.
With the renaming of Bombay as Mumbai, Bollywood had ceased to exist. Its replacement should be Mumblywood. Why are the media not making the necessary change?
