(I came to this site looking for Ridley Scott movie titles!) Would Ridley Scott, James Cameron, and Spielberg have made it into the top 50? Congratulations to David Lynch, "the greatest filmmaker(director?) of our era"! I thought he made films just for other filmmakers and artists, not necessarily for popular consumption. I'd have thought "Last Temptation" would have knocked Scorsese off the list! Hooray for the Coen Bro's! Spielberg: so maybe he has his finger on the pulse - down the throat is more like it - of the Zeitgeist, but he's crass and manipulative and corny for corn's sake. I applaud his choice of material, generally, but his tricks trivialize cultural documents that should have been masterpieces of filmic literature. Hooray for Miyazaki, a Humanitarian Genius! The Wachowskis: Matrix 1 & 2 are astonishing sfx martial-arts ballets. I haven't seen #3, nor Lord of the Rings 3, but I look forward to seeing two of the greatest battles ever put on film. I suspect that, side-by-side, these movies, about the Human Race's life on the line, were made for a reason, and not just for cheap thrills. A dire gift. Open your mind. Look. See. Think. Act. We have a lot to lose, you know.
Where the hell is James Cameroon's name.. what kind of list is this in which great Directors like Ridley Scot, James Cameroon and Steven Spielberg are not Included..I would'nt be surprised if they added Subhash Ghai's name.hahhaha.. Sorry James your names is not on but you are the best...
What the heck?? Where is James Cameron? This list does not even contain Steven Spielberg.. So, it is a load of crap !! Any list that does not have these two stalwarts of Hollywood cinema in the Top 10 would be overflowing with crap !!
