friends, this is indeed a big blow to the film music. i can't imagine he is no more. i just happened to meet him and talked with him last year at a musical programme in pune. he quoted beautifully about today's music something like...>> "aaj ka sangeet sun ke paanv zaroor thirakte hain, magar us zamane ke sangeet se dil dhadakta tha"
"Seene mein sulagte hai armaan" This song only can tell how great music composer he was.....i have not words to describe this great man, but to sing and listen "Seene mein sulagte hai armaan..."
What a great music director he was ! Whenever I hear the song "Raahi Matwaale" on the radio sung by Talat Mehmood and Suraiya, tears simply roll down my cheeks and cannot control it. Many many salutations to Anilda for grooming singers like Mukesh and Talat Mehmood and for his contribution to the Indian film industry.
I'm very sad to hear the news.....He was one of the few greats in the Indian Movie Industry, alongwith Khemchand Prakash, RC Boral etc. Some of the most beautiful compositions that I've heard and a very simple man...I hope he gets enough attention and coverage, which he deserves..... Ajay
I know one Nurul Hassan was the Governor of West Bengal. I do not know any famous Bengali poet with identical name. Since you have mentioned that he was a famous poet, then I can guess that you are actually refering KAZI NAZRUL ISLAM. Please rectify your report.
Alvida Anilda, you will be always remembered through your music and musical history you have left behind like other legendaries. I pay my tribute by remembering song composed by you (Film:Pardesi?) "Phir Milenge Jaanewale yaar Das Vidaniya" (forgive me if I spell this russian phrase wrongly).
The Legend, The Kohinoor of Indian Films.... Anilda was an immensely talented musician... Its the end of a great journey ....What else to say.... 'Seene mein sulagate hain hai armaan, aankhon mein udaasi chhai hain....' He had composed this song from inspiring from the sound of the sea waves when he was having a night walk on sea shore... What a natural composer!!! Tributes to Anilda...
Its truly a shock. A legend is no more. I just saw him a couple of months ago on T.V. in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa & he was fit & fine. He also sang a song. Anyways, legends are not born, they are created. Anilji's contribution to Indian Cinema & Music will always remain in golden quotes! May God rest his soul.
