I think the cool dude was making a point when he said that Michael Jordan has performed during cruch and the world knows that he single handedly won more than one NBA titles. and he took Steve Waugh as an analogy to that point. Cuz we know Steve also has won many laurels for his team. Wasim Akram, truly the greatest of them all fast bowlers also did the same to some extent.
And I agree that Sachin hasn't performed under crunch. He played his maiden World Cup final and collapsed under pressure. One surely wanted more thatn that from him. atleast a good innings if not winning the match. will Sachin play his next world cup final. suppose India again qualifies for the next final. he'll be in his mid 30's. one won't expect any fireworks in that age.
comparisons must not be drawn, but Akram becomes a better player than Sachin when we see that so many times he single handedly won the match including a world cup final.
It was great to know about Mr.Bachchan receiving one more honour. He is truly a great person who rightly deserves to get so many honours which no other person must have received till date so consecutively. He has proved that he is not only the icon of Indian Film Industry but also has his recognition across the globe . There are not any words left to say more about him. I wish him all the best n also pray for his long life. Go on Mr.Bachchan we are there with u forever..!!
I really very very strongly disagree by your concept of REAL WORLD (!?!). Ofcourse, its no obsession, i and infact most of the people i know felt that this award was really and most definitely far far far more deserved by Sachin Tendulkar.
And by the way, Sachin has always delivered in most difficult situations. He is the most genuine player and is simple the BEST. And we believe that this award was deserved by the BEST.
Most definitely, Big B is the only one who deserved this award. Herartly Congrats. Most of the awards are really very wisely judged, but does anybody feel that sport award was most deserved by Sachin Tendulkar?
Or was it just becoz, vasim was retiring so they thought this award would give some nice consolation??????
