It's a pity to hear that malayalam movies are being remade. It was malayalees who used to remake other movies from other languages.

Not only Telugu but Hindi film makers also do it
by muneer on May 07, 2003 12:58 PM

Not only the Telugu Fim Makers but Hindi Film makers also try to do the same thing by dubbing the south indian films in Hindi but most of the time it doesn't work. I think that Bollywood fans are not that senseless to watch such movies.

Remakes of Malayalam

Real good malayalam movies like "Mathilukal",
"Bhootakanadi" should be remade in Hindi too. These are real classics and a treat to watch in any language.

Malayalam movies had always substance
by outsider on May 06, 2003 08:19 PM  | Hide replies

In Indian movie industry, malayalam movies have always held their place, matched only by bengali movies in terms of substance and creativity. So it is no wonder that these movies are getting remade. It is not just AP that remakes malayalam movies. Tamil and Hindi too does the same. Priyadarsan's movies have become big hits in Bollywood. Three cheers to the malayalam film industry which has traditionally produced down to earth and good movies. However it might be time for even them, to sit back and review their work in the last couple of years, as there had been a notable decline in the quality of movies produced in kerela too.

The creativity is truly dead in Telugu movies ... there are too many love based movies these days ... and all of them differ only in the casting ... rest all is same stupid old story. As for the only creative director Ramgopal Verma has moved to bollywood ... there is nobody to rescue Telugu film industry.
