Aishwaria and Acting have only one thing in common- the starting letter A. They are poles apart. She has always been a good looking model - thats it. She is getting awards because the Hindi films do not have good actresses apart from the likes of Tabu. Wish she had just stuck to the non-emoting modeling stuff.
ashwariaya is just this immensely lucky woman who could never act but just because she is beautiful ,even if she starts to act in a film they give her an award reassuring her that she can go along giving average performances and an amazingly bad and unclear dialohue delivery and get away with it by looking good.even in this film ,she will be highly overhyped, give an average performance and get waway with another critics award without realising her actual inability to act .this is a really sad state of affairs
no doubt...aishwarya is one of the most beautiful women in the world.. as an actress she has grown into a lot more matured character... i mean her recent performance in devdas is simply outstanding considering the emotional upheaval that (paru)character has to represent.. now with Ghosh,a very good director,we can expect another aishwarya masterpiece... hope she will jusify the character with full flair..
I am confident that Aishwarya Rai will win more accolades in her Bengali Film as she is sincere and is a rare blend of sincerity, humility, serenity and humaneness. She is an actress par excellence as she is a Human being of extreme inner beauty as her exterior
Rituparno Ghosh says that he doubts if his film's literary antecedents will click with the average Hindi moviegoer in Mumbai. "I don't think Chokher Bali is meant for him." - Firstly, if his film is not meant for Hindi Moviegoer then why did he take an Hindi film actress. Didn't he take Ash keeping an eye on Mumbai Box office. Secondly, Mumbai audience is intelligent enough to praise good work. The Mumbai audience has always been rejecting substandard stuff of Bollywood. Therefore he should not insult the Mumbai audience. Thirdly, for whome is this film meant for? For the National Award Jury, it seems. In any case Rituparno Ghosh should know that the audience is not expecting any great performance from Aishwarya Rai as majority of the audience do not consider her as a good actress at all. Therefore no one is going to be disappointed if she gives a bad performance.
Aish is an wonderfully talented actress apart from her great looks. She has that charisma that no one else possesses. She is going to be the torch-bearer of Indian cinema in years to come. No doubt about that. She is going to win accolades in the west too!! May God bless her to recover soon and hearty wishes for her participation at Cannes!!
