Rani was superb in Saathiya, her performance was far better than the heroine in the original Tamil version "Aleypayuthe". It is good to see Rani getting to do a complete film with heroine-oriented author backed role. Until Saathiya, Rani never got a full-fledged heroine role like Aishwarya in "Taal" or Preity Zinta in "Kya Kehna".
I have not seen Saathiya, but from the comments I see, it must be pretty good. Please dont forget the source from the South. dont forget to give it credit as well. :)
