I have this question for the author about this term "psychedelic colleges" he has used in the article. I have only heard it in psychedelic drugs, and I checked out its usage and seems that its not at all appropriate to use in the college sense at all. The word psychedelic in itself means:
adj 1: producing distorted sensory perceptions and feelings or altered states of awareness or sometimes states resembling psychosis; "psychedelic drugs like psilocybin and mescaline" 2: having the vivid colors and bizarre patterns associated with psychedelic states; "a psychedelic painting" 3: of a mental state characterized by intense and distorted perceptions and hallucinations and feelings of euphoria or sometimes despair; "a psychedelic experience".
To say "young is in" is too hasty a comment to make. In past also, there have been lacs of articles abotu whats in and what not, about women power or younger blood or new wave - but nothing rules. Nothing is forever.
Success of "Chalte Chalte" reaffirms the fact that audiences love to see mature faces at an interval rather than bombarded with fresh faces that gets lost in crowd after single movie. Ultimately, everything depends upon script and direction. Indian public is not that stupid, neither the fact that only collegians watch the movie. So stop making such remarks
