Mother of all marital movies

WHy does rediff publish badly written articles? Just beacause of he name, is it? I think he should do some research first before peddling his nonsense.
This author has not mentioned the names of films such as Sangam, Ek Phool DO Mali, Ram Avtaar, Sagar, Saudagar (old one) etc. Moreover how do u a movie define to be marital? Just bacause there has to be a third character in teh love story? Looks like he has been paid to write about CHalte Chalte. hence a vague article.

Good for viewers

Its great to have a chance to view some movies based on marital relationships. Somehow most of movies are based on love affairs and end as a marriage but the fact is that marriage is the beginning of life in its own way with so many complications which have hardly been touched by these movie makers and really need lots of exploration.

I am pretty sure there are lots of viewers who will love to watch such movies,

Subhash Jha's article

A couple of corrections in the artile:

1) In Andaz, Dilip Kumar was not responsible for the break-up in Raj & Nargis' marriage. It was Raj Kapoor's character who was the suspicious kind.

2) I haven't seen Aap ki Kasam, but in HTHS it wasn't SRK who breaks his marriage. The story was a very good one where it shows that the fault lies with all 3 chracters viz, the husband, the wife and the friend. It just wasn't treated right.

3) In IVPV, Madhavan has no issues digesting his wife's success. Its the people who start treating him in a different way (like giving him the job coz his wife was a start) that he couldn't accept. He still loved her the same.

Why does rediff post such junk?
by Sprinty on Jun 10, 2003 06:26 PM

What kind of an article was that? There ain't nothing like "marital movies"...Tell a good story...ANY good story and the movie will click.
...Will writers like Mr.Jha stop generating such balderdash?
Most Indian directors do not have any originality..any creativity! Its a shame that India has to endure the rotten quality of movies that are produced nowadays. No wonder the industry is in a slump. As you sow so you reap!
