A good film
by Shrihari on Jan 28, 2005 01:19 PM

I've seen this film. It's good, a little long but well made and conceptualized. Sorry about the terse comment.

I don't know this guy. But, through out the report, he says that he has difference or he backed out or he had problems in financing..

So, why don't rediff publish about me also.. I'll also 'release' a movie called.. hmm.. hmm.. ok.. take this title.. 'Dirty Dancing'.. or 'Boogie.. Woogie'.. whichever sounds catchy..

strange u dont know about him.. anurag kashyap is the guy behind movies like "Satya" and "Kaun!". he is a RGV prodigy and branched out to direct his own. his "paanch" again is a hardhitting movie which has been in cans due to the censor's jittery approach....

so now u know him.... dont u???

Knowing him or not knowing him is not a criteria for releasing his movie. In fact, I feel this guy is honest in his work and approach by backing out of projects which have their foundations laid by someone else. Also, the freedom in India is really a construed concept. When it comes to bashing the majority, the left and censor will not mind at all. But if some guy honestly projects the truth that is unpalatable to the political masters, i.e. Congress or the Left, then suddenly freedom of speech and expression is denied. Wonder why the press and the political machinery, especially the left shout themselves hoarse about freedom of expression when it comes to trash movies... Maybe it suits their agenda, isn't it?
