Ok, Its agreed that film may be a scrap..since your review wants to portray...like that. And you can even compare the music..whether it is lifted from Hindi or Other languages..but why your comparing them with Aditya Chopra..and other northies..vikraman's films based on the culture of south. He has some good films to his name dealing with delicate subjects..he creates movies for the masses..and not for screening in cannes or something like that. You intellectuals always engage in finding faults..and on the whole forgets about the director's previous films.
Your reviews make us feel that your alien to southern movies, so its better for both rediff readers and you, to stop reviewing southern films.
Everyone is mentioning about this reporter. But rediff.com unit doesn't seems to change the person. Think themself that they are the best in reviews. I like to say onething... Most of the cameramen and other technical work has been done by the tamil people for bollywood films. I dont know how they take movies like that in bollywood. very very sick. Lack of maturity really. They are doing only one thing right, that is bringing the stars together. but that's not necessary really coz.. they dont have any kind'a story line r plot in their film. They are not fit to really comment about tamil movies. Because tamil movies increasing in every part of cine field industry these days. Infact more tamil films are crossing over 125 days mark. No hindi films is been remade in tamil. But lots and lots of tamil film is been remade in hindi. Spending money is not at all important they should make the people sit for 3 hours. I would disagree if they say about maniratnam and all. coz.. he's gem of all. Non-comparable. Ghai, yash and other bollywoood directors is not at all the competitors for mani.
It is high time that this lady shuts her mouth regarding reviews. Because She is one of those creatures who criticized even mani, Comparing south movies with north based one is like comparing some thing good with something totally crap. Expecially movies of johar,ghai and chopras is absolutely ridiculous.
I did not read ur full review but would agree that the movie is probably a crap given that most movies are that way nowadays. But your comparision of Vikraman with Aditya Chopra and the other guy I don't necessarily agree, I don't think they are great directors in the first place to be compared with. Yeah their films have grandeur but thats the only thing they have. the movies you listed were a hit more because of the actors than any good story line(same old love crap right) or directorial touch. And why are more Hindi movies copy exacts of tamil movies of late(saatya for example?). I guess I deviated out of the topic....anyway my 2 cents
This film does not prove to be worth enough to reach among sophisticated society. Although the director will be attracted amoung the ordinary people, the mere sense of the story is missing. one thing is sure, vikraman and SA rajkumar definitely has to be seperated. viewers do not tolerate any more repeated rythms.
I wonnder how this Rediff is reviewing a South Indian tamil movie where u always gives importants to hindi movies but after reading it came to know just an comparision between the north and south movie industry the tradation values and cultures are full varies from north where this movie is an south movie it will be up to their tradation and theit culture plz dont compare the south and north if u really want to review the south movies dont compare it with north.
stupid review... U guys are waste.. u seem to rebuke family movies to the hilt... Priyamana thozhi is a hit all round and u guys are telling it is bad... Give us a break, guys... Go back to ur childhood and ask ur parents to teach u the value of friendship, family belonging, etc.. and particularly, live with many people in ur family.. U will then love the movie...

If you call K3G a film, and more so if you try to compare a director from south trying to be like AC or KJ. You dont know how to write reviews..
Bollywood sucks and the very reason some films survive is becoz they copy the entire stuff from south indian film industry... I am in the field and hence i know what's happening. Shobha is got to be kidding...
May Ms.Warrier please understand the fact that Vikraman has been making movies much before fledglings like Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra. Karan Johar's K3G (originally titled Kabhi Kushi Badi Ghum) is probably the worst Indian movie ever made. Unfotunately for Vikraman, his father couldn't afford the 'grandeur' that the Chopras could. Considering the reach of his movies and his track record Vikraman is not any worse than his so called Hindi peers. P.S:This is not a defese for Vikraman.It is only a revolt against the undeserving glorification of Mr.Chopra and Mr.Johar.
