I find a disturbing lack of sensitivity and seriousness in your site when it comes to reviewing tamil movies. There have been some incompetent fly-by critics in your site before but Mr Arkay really takes the cake!. This sorry apology for a critic starts out by raping a poignant, touching, and smart movie like Anbe sivam. To add insult to injury he fawns at and drools over a carnal potboiler like dhool. I am curious to get my hands on Mr Aarkay's previous top 10 year end lists. I am sure it will be Freud's dream come true!
I am all for negative reviews provided they back up their criticism with an objective analysis. I am afraid Mr Arkay wouldnt know of such a thing even if it were to jump at his face. If you are in anyway serious at all about reviewing tamil movies, I suggest you hire a real critic. One who would actually watch the screen rather than monitor children scared by groteseque faces and low-lifes ogling at Shakeela.
Mr.Aaarkay, You had mentioned Dharani's first movie was not released. His first movie "Ethirum Puthirum" was released in theatres in April 99 and was an average grosser.Infact it was named the third best movie of the year by the TN state government. I strongly feel that people like you who write reviews must asceratin the facts first and then present them to the public.Please do remember that you have a duty to present facts properly without prejudice to those who read your columns. When the person who judges movies lacks standards and makes mistakes like this, how can you expect movies of higher standards to be made. Thank You Prabhu
