Satta is worth watching

Indeed the woman depicted by Raveena in Satta is worth watching . It is a role of lifetime for her and for the Indian audience. Full marks to Madhur Bhandarkar for selecting such a topic and describing on screen with great details although certain faults can be overlooked. The future of Hindi films is not all dead yet!

Now a days it is a fashion and and feel acceptabilty provided one is shown male bashing in the media. It goes beyond the acceptable limits. Bu the interesting part is that it is all made by males only. If a lady police person is shown, she is shown in a most decently cut khakhi uniform with ray ban glasses, bashing all the thugs single handedly, but reality is a far cry.

So why don't we have a natural scene

satta is one of better movies to come out of bollywood and sad to know it is not doing well
I was pleasently surprised to see the ease with which the lady character slept with a man she was not married too.(adultery) The whole scene was shot very convincingly without an element of guilt or repentance later in the movie.
The heroine was more shocked with brazen conduct of her husband after he killed someone. Over all a better movie and worth a watch..Hope they make more of this matured movies than crap that comes out of the movie mill

satta the best picture in tears

It is time India shows the power behind the women if only they have courage to teach the single minded man folks some lessons. Indian husbands are the worst in the world. They use their wives for domestic duties and are afraid to give them any power. Very few man in India would support the women folks to rise above the mainstream power ladder. Indira Ghandi started the trend, Kalpana Chawla gave courage to many young Indian girls to dream big and now Satta shows the true image of dark side of Indian politics. What worries me is the educated Indian middle class who never votes or do anything to change the lazy Indian image. They are good at critisizing others but they never contribute to the change needed. Bollywood can change that but we have very few telented script writers. Most of the technicians working in film industry are uneducated and have no professional traing. They are unable to think in global terms to catapult India in 22nd. century. We even laugh when a guy falls down walking on a banana skin. We create bad image for our own downfall. DEvdas was for Indians and not for the the world and should never be allowed to go for oscars. It received a big kick from the west. Hope the new generation of film makers would change the Indian image for good.

Satta - opportunity struck women in disguise.
by sameer aras on Feb 22, 2003 05:07 PM

After watching this movie and reading this article, the modern Bollywood ,seems to be playing the note to show modern women as a symbol of power if given the opportunity.
The weakedness and the reverse tricks played by Anuradha sehgal , proves the femine power to its extreme mediocrity.but Anuradha has lived upto expectations of public. She has done 4 wrongs to do oneright thing.Where as rambhiben doesn't seem to follow this foot steps.Anuradha doesn't seem to be greedy of politics like Malti Barve or Rambhiben to run the "Gadd~ after her husband. But time and agin she is put under such circumstances which forces her to enter more and more deeply into this maline area of governance.
Indeed Raveena tondan has shown she is much competitive in Playing such character roles when it comes to be par with Shabana Aazmi or Suchitra Sen , Suhasini Mulay etc.
All heads up to this icon of modern Actress, the Ravishing Ravina Tondon capturing Bollywood SATTA of Top slot heroine in Hindi Cinema .
