Devdas had no chance but why. Just because it was a love story. After all what was the story line of Titanic -Love, some ugly scenes(that's what is the cause of success of their movies)Devdas was much better than that. There were much better sets and the performances were mindblowing
Our Hollywood counterparts cannot even afford a song. BUT I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE SENT The Legend Of Bhagat Singh or Humraaz to the Oscars
I dont know how they choose movies to be sent to Oscars. Personally I liked Devdas a lot but from the perspective of a total masala movie with nice sets. I was shocked when it was nominated. We had far better movies this year that deserved Oscar with The Legend of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at the top slot. I am 99% sure it would have fetched us an Oscar. That 1% doubt is only there since i have not seen other Oscar nominations.
