Mukund
Phalke award to Devanand
by Mukund on Dec 10, 2003 10:20 AM

This award should have been given to him long back & he truly deserves it. He put forward many new ideas in film making & various social topics were introduced. All his movies were very hit. Only one thing I never understood that while his 90% movies & songs were hit mainly with Rafi as play back singer why he was so crazy after Kishor?

Congratulations to my favourite actor
by A.Ramana Chary on Dec 10, 2003 09:41 AM

Dear Sri. Dev Anand Saheb,

I am your ardent fan right from the day i started viewing the movies. As I see I did't miss any of your movies. I was lucky enough to meet my favourite ever green charming actor in late 80's in Trivandrum as we both stayed in Pankaj hotel. The day is ever remembering in my life.

I think that Dev saab should have got the coveted award long back. Any how now it happened.

I would like to convey heartful congratulations to my favourite actor and wish the god to give him a long charmful life to set a role model for the young actors.

Thank you.

Dev Anand
by A.H. Venkatachalam on Dec 10, 2003 05:51 AM

Dev Anand is as talented as Dilip Kumar and Rajkapoor and much more handsome than these two. As distinct from Dilip and Raj, Dev Anand's style of acting was natural. Therefore, audience saw in him their own selves. The scenes depicting his love for his mother, endeared him to the audience, particularly, ladies, as they were realistic. His happy go lucky attitude inspired youngsters of that age. In this context, Munimji, CID and Tere Ghar Ke Samne are a few worth mentioning. Nobody can forget his casual, carefree, stylish walk behind Shakila in CID and the patient and diplomatic manner in which he handles two old men in Tere Ghar Ke Samne. One felt really relaxed after seeing his movies. Debonair Dev Anand deserves the Award.

Meghal
Yawnnnnnnn!!!!!!
by Meghal on Dec 10, 2003 02:25 AM

He should be punished for torturing us with the movies he has produced since last 25 years. His last hit was "Des Pardes" in 1977. The quality of his movies worsens as days passes by.

And by acting standards, he was never a great actor. He may be a stylish hero, but acting???!! forget it.

Perhaps the committee could not find any other actor, so they selected Dev Anand
