Its not a bad film

Oops looks like a sincere effort if only kiran, vikas and adhyasha would have taken a workshop in acting. One big reason to watch the film is Mita Vasistha's acting. She is simply wonderful. She is an excellent example of how the whole body of an actor should perform in any scene. I would like to congratulate Deepak Tijori for trying to make a different film. The main issue is even bolder than the male stripper issue and it has been handled very well.

Wonderful Movie, a mature handling to a very tricky subject by Deepak Tijori. The movie not only has a good subject, message but also a tight direction and good flow. Good work done Deepak and Team !! Must watch Movie.

Oops????
by VK on Aug 01, 2003 09:51 PM

I am really happy that this movie does not turn out to be a film one would like to watch for a subject that may affect less then an iota of Indian Population. Rest of the population either does not know about it or does not want to know about it. Tijori seems to have intended to create a controversy in the name of the subject and wanted to swim across with the curosity generated there after. But Oops!!!He fails and very rightly so.Reason, the subject is handled without any senstivity and the artists also seem to be feeling rather awkward while doing a scene or delivering a dialog. If your intensions are clear then you need not show intimate scenes at all as they make a movie distastful instead he should have done more research on the subject and should have shown in such a way that something can be implied. All artists were below average and I heard about mita vashisht doing a role in the movie , i suspected something and i was right. She wasted herself. So to say the least, India and Indians need entertainment not sleazy skin show in the name of reality. Leave it for others.

Oops they did it again

Bollywood's young filmmakers should be lauded about choosing new themes and subjects for their movies. In recent times weve seen quite many interesting subjects, hitherto unseen in bollywood. However, only a few have been worth the effort. Oops also falls into that category. The film's been getting great PR just because it had a very bold theme ie of male strippers. And the makers/spin doctors made sure that it gets the desired coverage on the onus of that.To that extent it raises curiosity and maybe even expectations of the final product. However, coming up with an idea is one thing and delivering a good product is entirely another. What Deepak Tijori & co forgot was that a story idea is not enough to stretch a feature length movie. I think rediff's review here was spot on ! The narrative fails to impress, dialogues suck, performances are flat. What a let down. Only if the focus had been on the treatment of the subject and not just getting excessive PR, the outcome would have been different. Otherwise, it just looks like a B movie from hollywood. Not a classy product like it should have been.
