I think this whole thing is going in the wrong directions....Of late, it has become a tradition especially in the media and film industry to go overboard to discuss issues involving gay relationship, extra marrital affairs and sex. This is not to advocate the over-conservative society of the past, but getting the sense of so called modern-thinking by over-discussing these issues does not make the society any better. By the way how many such movies are made in other developed countries ? Take it or not, most Indians still consider it as a soft porno movies and thats the reason that these become instant hits and not because that people appreciate the issue better.
India has many gay people and it has been a taboo. I think it is time that people brought themselves out publicly and be proud of who they are. rather than being in the closet and putting their wives and children through hell. I think this is a bold step taken by Mr. Dattani.
A gay film in India sparks such type of relations which are still unknown and not widespread. Directors of such movies want some publicity by making such nasty films and start contaminating the society. Such films are definetely a big hit in the west. If the film is a hit in India the apropos to the director. What is the use of this film which cannot please its own countrymen. The makers of the film has nothing to be happy about.
ppl who think gay issuses shld be supressed and not opened up to public ..GO GET A LIFE ! whats wrong with it??? its not like ppl dont know abt it or there arent gay ppl in india ...we r in the 21st century !! broaden ur minds ppl !!!! good job Mr . Mahesh..i think more movies like this shld be made.
Instead of going for unhealthy topics for our Indian Culture, may be they can use their talent to project the good values of our country and heritage to other part of world.
