For those who are well conversed with Marathi, Mr. Girish Kuber has written a really well compiled book titled "Tatayan" that covers the history of Tata from its inception and the journey till date. It throws light on every significant small and large happening that Tata business house came across. Right from Jamshetji's desire to build a business for the country, interactions between JRD and Nehru, how the then govt screwed up Air India after grabbing the airline that was owned by Tatas. The anti development (socialist outlook) govt policies that hampered business interests, how JRD handled these with maturity without a bitterness and always penchant for the best for the national interest, how JRD inspired people like Sumant Moolgaokar to build the Telco at Pune, roping in Nani Palkhiwala at some political situations, how the IISc, Bengaluru was found, the Ajit Kerkar (Taj Hotesl), Russi Modi (TISCO) fiascos, the relevant strategies deployed by Ratan Tata and so on...This book is a wonderful Tata Diary account in Marathi for sure. I sincerely thank Girish Kuber (though I do not support Girish's political inclinations...bit anti-establishment) for composing this title. Hats Off. Every Indian will happily remain grateful and indebted towards the Tata group.
