All govt services have bad image
by Ravindra Rao on Sep 07, 2018 04:58 PM

ISRO wants to have a good image through cheap publicity and not good work. The claim that most people do not recognise what ISRO is not true. Most people know more bad stories about ISRO than any good stories. Many technologists are aware of the spy scandal that shook ISRO 15 years ago when some silly Maldivian woman took ISRO officers for some unauthorised fun. Many technologists are aware of the risk to life of the real scientists in India. Many do not want to take up govt jobs because of the corruption and the dirty politics where the innocent are victimised. Technologists want technical challenges and do not want a job where they will assemble imported components and claim "Make in India". The contents of the article show the main aim is to copy western ideas. They want to copy NASA just in having a good image. NASA has made great contribution to technology in many spheres which has advanced industrial standards and has given new products for the people's use. Has ISRO made any original contribution to technology. They only do "Copy Cat Research" and that too with imported items. Good technologists would not like to work under an officer who got his undeserving promotion just because he belongs to a backward class. If ISRO wants a genuine good image it has to concentrate on original technology instead of working on second hand and obsolete technology. The lament that only 2% of employees are from good institutions is true for every govt service includi
