Regarding conflict of interest there should have been a clear cut disclosure of the relation ships involved and the pecuniary benefits..if any...There cannot be a zero influence of Kocahr in the sanctions.....and absolve of influence....
We cannot generalize & comment on the statement given by Chanda Kochar .
She is at very top level & so is her husband .
They are not middle or simple senior level employees , from whom you expect that every thing of a husband must be known to wife . ( Like typical , you know , Indian family )
At such a level professionalism prevails & their paths are different .
So , she might be telling truth that she was unaware of her husbands dealings .

While Shilpaji's defence is logical, the common sense is finding it difficult to digest. The most unfortunate syndrome here is the board support. And this indeed is worrisome.
Chanda Kochhar says that the interest of the Videocon group directly or indirectly in the company owned/managed by Deepak Kochhar was never brought to the notice of the MD and CEO.... If this is true, the officers and executives who processed the Videocon Proposal are at fault in not mentioning the conflict of interest when they put up the loan proposal for sanction. The officers have to be asked now in the light of Chanda Kochhar reply to SEBI.

I know the whole procedures of granting loan by ICIC bank and dont believe that such a huge loan given to Videocon had not come under the notiece of her. What was her risk team was doing ?Did Videocon not gave any project report for the purpose of loan ? why ICICI never kept a watch or monitor the amount spend by Videocon ? This is a clear case of misuse of power, position and influence to give an advatage to her husband . He should better resign from her post immediately instead of fooling people about her innocence.

Neeta Ambani is not as educated and holding post of CEO like Chanda kochar. Neeta Ambani can not be expected or asked to know about the business of such a giant organisation like Reliance. Your comparision of Chanda kochar with Neeta Ambani is totally wrong. No one can believe except people like you that she was unaware about the facts. Do you think in an orgainsation like ICICI Bank any one can get huge loan from the bank against accepted norms and risk factors without knowledge of full time CEO ? Do you think Independent Directors who are not whole time directors and attend only board and committeed meeting s can get powers to grant huge loans ? This is unbelievable. It is better if Chanda Kochar stop putting her futile efforts to convience people about her innocence in the matter and accept her guilt and resign from her post without any further delay.
