We have been seeing much talk about GDP with Data in TV and articles in the press. How many of us, the educated ones know about the data and the figures, or how many has the patience to go through it ? What common man is interested is he gets the necessities at reasonable or affordable cost. When ordinary people cannot get their necessities at affordable cost, will they eat the GDP and it's data ? There is no use talking and forcing to understand the people the effects or advantages of GDP. Government should ensure necessities are available to the poor at affordable cost and provide them with a comfortable, safe and peaceful life.
Rbi rates setting member ravindra dholkiya raised wuesquest on gdp of 8.2 as doubtful, it seems bjp want to make gdp a election rallies material against congress, and may be more upside come.
Shameless article. Logicless too. But could feel the hatred quite vibrantly. keep it up, it articles like this that reinforce my faith on people like you! unfaithful bast....

The problem since Ages for India has been everybody especially the Govt., Economists, Financial Department and every analysts have only been seeing India from a very broader prospective and then happily declaring and being happy about the growth of India. Surely, its a good news that GDP is growing, but is it really growing in the grassroot level. Is the grassroot issues and problems getting reduced. Is the grassroot people even surviving forget about being happy. So, for a growth of a country in true sense, many other factors also need to be seen and counted and many other factors also reveal whether there is real growth. India\'s biggest and only main problem is population. Has it ever been addressed or forget addressing, atleast has this topic ever been discussed or thought of. Natural resources destruction. Has this ever been reduced. Have we been taking the benefit of natural resources in true sense without destroying them. Has there been ever a central development model happening simultaneously. Mostly all development is one sided and concentrated on one pocket wherever there is money. The development growth has such hug gap that on one side when in cities people have 100% excess power consumption, on the other hand, Govt. is not able to give even a solar power to locations 100 - 200 kms away, forget remote areas. Likewise goes the basic necessity like water, roads, food etc.
Re: Is it GRE Analytical Reasoning section..

You keep referring to the GRE.
Do you think scoring high in the GRE is something great ?
Scoring above the 99 percentile in the GRE analytical section or any other section is a cakewalk compared to what you need to do to ace the CAT to get into one of the top 4 IIMs in the general category !
The same arbitrary assumptions and complex calculations showed a GDP of < 7% and < 6% in some quarters in the previous years. At that time, Mr.Ninan did not feel the need to question the data, because he got a handle to pile on to the Modi Govt. The same source and complexity shows 8.2% this time, and immediately the data becomes suspect.
I am no big fan of the Modi Govt. and there are concerns about its performance, but the bigger concern is the ramblings of mad pseudo secular experts like T.N.Ninan.
Ofcourse GDP can also reach 10% at the cost of the common man paying exorbitantly high prices for food, shelter, medical, education and fuel. Jai hind!

Where were you null and void when GDP was claimed to be more than 8% during MMS period? Were you paying in paise for your daily commodity purchase?
