"Delhi's problem of being covered by smoke started right after this law was implemented." This doesn't seem to be correct as smog was observed even before 2009 when the law was implemented.
This article is very well written. A rarity on a site of the type of Rediff. Well Researched, logical, and makes sense. HOPE PEOPLE LIKE AMRINDER AND THAT BLUDY MODI ALSO READ THIS
This is an eye opening article. Govt must take immediate steps. The stubble burning must be stopped by law.Besides pollution, it is roasting the soil crust and making the soil infertile. The farmer has to use more quantities of chemical fertilizers, water and pest killers thereby increasing the cost of the product. Instead, stubble should be collected by an energy company and use it as fuel to produce power and also to produce very very useful and cheap bio-fertilizer. THANK YOU REDIFF FOR PRINTING A USEFUL ARTICLE, PERHAPS FOR THE FIRST TIME..
Author seems to be very well versed with the multidimensional problem. Instead of writing on rediff, the author should file a PIL to reverse the crop pattern in Punjab.
Very rightly analysed. Instead of blaming poor farmers of Punjab the government should towards the ill policies which is creating this. New Punjab government should reverse the decision of erstwhile Akali government for welfare of Punjab farmers and saving Delgi from becoming a gas chamber.
