People must think about local mindset

India and Indians mindset is very different from rest of the world in terms of purchase and consumption. Around the world people like to buy everything under one roof. But in India, we have markets for Cloths, Vegetables, Electronics, Groceries and you name anything. We like to go to the market and bargain, not got the rate, then go to next shop till we get correct rate and material/item. Gets satisfied and enjoy. In malls this type of buying is not there. At the most they offer discount, but the sates are very high. Third, Indians purchase power is very less as compared to other developed countries where malls are big hit. E.g. a coffee cup in starbuck is 200 , Indians are not interested since it is not value for money, since their earning is much less. They may go for sometime to enjoy but not regular. This is affordable to higher middle and rich people. Sadly they are very few. In Europe and US they earn high, so do not mind in spending, so mall is the better place to spend.

One best example is in US average salary is 2000 - 4000 $ per month. So they can afford to buy apple phone in one salary along with regular monthly expenses since apple comes between 500-1000$. Here in India average monthly salary is 20000-50000 and apple mobile costs between 60000-100000. So they cannot buy a phone in one salary an also manage monthly expenses. So mall culture came early to India. It is a success for sometime for curiosity of the people, but then people went back to markets.

Yes absolutely true and this trend will continue till the earning gap between the rich or higher middle class with lower middle class or poor. Unfortunately the gap is increasing day by day and hence the mall culture will also demolish as the time will pass.
