RERA has given good hope for future buyers, but no law at present could give any relief to existing victims who have purchased flats from many builders. Legal and administrative machinery is very slow and lakhs of people are suffering due to poor decision making and non-cooperation of these builders. Govt. must insist Development Authorities to join hands with new transferred builders to build and finish the unfinished work of flats so that possession is given on fast track. Else govt. is allowing many subsidies to PM Avas Yojna and others to develop housing infrastructure rapidly. Even if few crores are spent by govt. on such issues, this will increase the credit ability of govt. seriousness to resolve public grievance. If Govt. becomes keen to solve this pending issues, at least for few years total scracity of housing at LIG, MIG and HIG flats will be resolved. Even in NCR region, more than 2 lakhs flats are under dispute.
