TCS is only a service provider
by girish on Apr 03, 2018 10:37 AM  | Hide replies

The work of TCS is very much similar to a labour contractor who hires men from villages in Bihar , Karnataka and poor places to work on construction sites in Mumbai. I would like to remind all those who are eugolising the work of TCS, that since its inception TCS has not one product in IT domain which it can boast of. After so many years the service mentality is so deeply embedded in TCS that I doubt wheather it can produce such world class product. I don't want to mention the name, but one leading organisation in Mumbai had given the task of developing software of robot to TCS, which it failed to develop. As someone else has pointed out if you are at right place at right time, you just get ahead just because of the shear force without much effort.

I don't want to belittle the hard work put in by FCK, but its not of the scale to call him Bhishma of IT

all the institutions built by congress and its leaders are slowly and surely being destroyed by the current regime which hates congress and nehru....

what is unfortunate is that this current regime is not capable of building or producing anything new...all it can do is destroy and loot what already exists...when that is destroyed and looted nothing will be left and nothing can be looted any more thanks to this corrupt in all ways regime ....no humanity, no integrity, no self respect, no love, no tolerance, only hungry for power and money....

People like Sunil Vaidy are like Rahul Gandhi, who only know babbling and fumble when asked about specifics.

Pls clarify the institutions, built by the Congress & still thriving . Blind eyed writers like you cannot & will not see anything beyond Congress.Admitted many institutions were built during their regime. But who degraded all those institutions systematically by corruption, caste politics, psychopancy etc .It is the same rulers who did it for their personal motives. Now when someone is trying to correct ,it there are guys like you who keep blaring that institutions are compromised, bcoz you are used to the rot & cleansing of that rot, is projected as destroying the institutions by so called intellectuals like you. The cancer of corruption sowed by them is soo deep rooted that it is very quickly eating away the foundations & all are looking otherways.

We need institutions, innovations, not individuals, ideologies
by Bharat Kumar on Mar 31, 2018 11:14 AM

Indira Gandhi was singularly responsible for running the institutions to ground along with a bunch of corrupt bureaucrats and politicians. The current regime has empowered the bureaucrats and crony capitalists even though the PM's heart might be with the masses. He is clueless on how to engage the desperate youth with the society slowly sinking under its own weight.

We need ideas and innovations, not ideologies !

At what cost ? !
by Bharat Kumar on Mar 31, 2018 10:53 AM  | Hide replies

Faqir Chand Kohli is overrated. He lived in the right times at the right places ! Narayana Murthy can be credited with offshoring the work to India, but TCS and other Tata companies were notorious for shipping our highly qualified graduates to low-end work. It is a law of probability that some have succeeded gloriously, but a majority have been reduced to ashes.

It isn't a surprise that even a soap-maker like Premji could succeed in the business! He just discarded the technocrats who came in the way of the growth of IT services. It shouldn't be a surprise that a lot of the middle-aged lie virtually on the roadsides of Bangalore, jobless !

These IT majors along with irresponsible bureaucrats who gave them tax breaks in return for favours for their sons and daughters, have virtually run the chances of India gaining anything from liberalization. Even after 25 years of liberalization, manufacturing hasn't shown any spark, except for a few auto ancilliaries. Is it a surprise that we account for only 1% or world trade ? Compete with China? !!

TCS was a premier consultant and could have been become a product powerhouse but for its shift to providing indentured services. The mindsets of many Indians who are in the US on H1B are no different from the plantation workers who were moved by the British to the various parts of the world.

This might be too harsh..but a Tharoor-kind review will show Kohli and some parsis view of India and Indians matches Winston Churchill's
