Plastic-Ban
by hayavadana rao on Apr 01, 2018 07:37 PM

Though it is a very good step banning the plastics by the State Government, Government should also consider the effect of depriving the jobs of about four lakhs persons. Without making or giving jobs to those persons, this step is going to give very hardships to lakhs of people. The Govt. should alternatively, consult and talk to the plastic bags manufacturers how to manufacture thicker plastic bags so as to recycle and use it. One direction decision is very bad and might effect in the coming any/general elections.

Every ban or correction will make few jobless, either do not improve, let the things continue in unlawful or dirty manner, or bring reforms.
One is to take lead and become a little non popular. All forces who were supporting unlawful acts, bribes, criminals, terrorists, and hate spreading have united to fight against Modi.
Let us see the result in 2019.

Why do we link job opportunities to Plast ban
by Nitin on Mar 31, 2018 08:26 AM

It is very sad that the some of the social miscreants immediately link a good cause with pseudo constraints. Plastic ban is a necessity to protect the environment and the alternatives to plastic will create jobs for the one who will lose now. To give an analogy - if we ban alcohol then the people working in alcohol industry will lose jobs but is alcohol good for mankind?

The future of our children and our species will be decided by who wins this battle. We all know the truth. Do we continue to doom our planet to be one of garbage or do we give legacy of care and share to our future?

This is same like the Mining Ban in GOA
by auryas on Mar 29, 2018 06:21 PM

Same case like mining ban in Goa. The mining mafia propaganda machine swung into action. When SC banned mining in Goa, they make a big issue out of it saying it costs 50000 jobs ? BUT THE MINING COSTS IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO THE ENVIRONMENT AND COST LIVES.

Same here. The plastic manufacturers syndicate now claims that they employ 4 lac people in this industry ? It is arm twisting the government and blackmailing it.

The government must not cave into these blackmailers who use paid media to propaganda their case and to misinform citizens.

Maharashtra's plastic ban
by JAAGRUK INSAAN on Mar 29, 2018 05:41 PM  | Hide replies

Maharashtra's plastic ban - IS TOTALLY UNJUSTIFIED.
WHY ?/

There is NO Scientific base for the ban!

The only thing Government has to ensure that inferior quality & harmful plastic should NOT get manufactured in MAH & that too, the Disposal of all Plastic items, has to be STRICTLY followed.

Banning the Plastic items will NOt SOLVE any problem.

PLASTIC is a engineering research product and is supposed to help the Human being and NOT damage it..
But, when misuse of anything starts , then it takes a bad shape and harms everybody.

Government attitude & approach has to be based on science & not based on Whyms & WHires of any group and must be based on COMMON MAN's Practical needs.

This is MISSING from the Government FATWAAAAA!

It is definitely based on science
1) Plastics are not biodegradeable.
2) They decompose into microplastics, get into seas and oceans and then consumed by fish and other marine organisms. These eventually get into animals and humans when they consume sea-based food and pose a health hazard.
3) They are killing off thousands of marine organisms.
4) Avoiding plastics is totally practical. Just a couple of decades back, none of us used plastics so much and no one missed it all. Unlike, other technologies, plastics do not provide a indispensable use. Mobile phones, for example, do have a negative side if misused but they provide so much benefit if used properly. However, plastics cause damage even if used properly. The only way plastics will not cause damage is when every user disposes off every piece of plastic responsibly, which is simply not going to happen. The only way then is to ban. Safer alternatives are there, will emerge and will more than compensate for the jobs lost.

When the evidence is evident everywhere, why do you go looking for it using a microscope ?

Toxic air, clogged drainage, contaminated ground water. Even the disposable glasses you use are so toxic that they cause cancer.

by Mr Ekbote on Mar 29, 2018 05:27 PM  | Hide replies

First of all how did you arrive at this figure of 4lakhs jobs will go.it is ridiculous. On the contrary it will avoid 10 lakhs death ...due to pollution.cattle and cows will not die as no plastic is there to eat. Then trees and plants will grow which will reduce temp by 4 degrees....now let that 4 lakhs of imaginative jobs go. Clean environment will reduce diseases of lungs, heart etc.savings in medicine, less medical leave, more productivity.
