Absolutely true. But, lacking the diabolical cunning and ruthless thirst for power, the Congress did not follow suit. They believed that no one or no party could go that low. But, again, this great country, i.e.the great land mass which was once part of the "British India" and which even today is a conglomeration of different people, languages, castes, religions, colour, races, cultures etc.etc.brought together under one Constitution though not really in spirit, is unfit on this date for a true, ethically and morally pure "democracy". When our leaders thunder a lie that we are the greatest Democracy in the world, it only means that the population of our "democratic" country is the biggest in the world, nothing else and nothing more. Why should we otherwise elect leaders who are not heroes but are tainted and villainous, and they are ruling without assuring us that they will be good.Should the Congress have used the same means, all the govt.money, power, ministers etc.etc.to win, win and win elections? I am sure that once the winners are through with their tenure, the new rulers will be tempted to do the same. How can this be stopped?
