Loan waiver
by arungopal agarwal on Mar 20, 2018 05:20 PM

Freebies is common issue for politicians for their vote bank, govt. only caters govt. servants including judicial system and politicians with hefty salary, Maharaja like perqs. and DA linked pension, for them others do not exist, they need mass votes so few chips as charity is given to deprived class as subsidies, load waiver and other divisive policies etc.,etc.,
How long this will work, still working from the last 70 years.
Immediate need is population policy, and common civil code, early retirement of all govt. servants at grass root level like army so as to solve many problems of the country. But it does not suit to official robbers as mentioned above.

Veda Vaidya, why Any loans can be waived at all. If you have no capacity to repay, one should not avail any loan.

veda shah...if you want repayment of loans govt should give them fair price...farmers are not allowed to sell in open free market...they are looted by middlemen...the govt does not give them the promised fair price or guarantee price..,because the get no profit they have to throw their produce on the roads? how are they to live in such conditions?

We see many years, up to this time we are facing the Leaders and Political parties as, "by the gundas and for the gundas". Where ever the Labour Parties rule, there we can see the real democracy that is “by the people and for the people.” Thank God the things will happen sooner the future. Ordinary people like us fed up of these Bloody Jute promising leaders. We most welcome Labourers’ party..

Beyond Loan waivers
by madhav gokhale on Mar 17, 2018 12:09 PM

About the position in Maharashtra, APMCs and Sugar Factories are today the effective tools for Netajees to control rural economy. Hence getting rid of APMCs and Sugarcane seems to be difficult to achieve. Again the trend amongst farmers is not to go for Cereals, but for cash crops like Sugarcane and Cotton, Vegetables and Fruits. Hence the whole Irrigation scenario is skewed in favour of cash crops. Since Irrigation is one link in the Neta-Sugar Factory-APMC-Irrigation- Land ownership-Rural Economy-People chain, it will be almost impossible to change the scenario
