It is duty of every citizen, who is earning to pay taxes for nation building. Shall it be fair to Give exemption to a woman who is earning more than Rs.1 lakh a month and on the other hand taxing a man with salary of less than Rs.50,000/- a month? Women of earlier generations (few decades earlier) deserved many concessions, but were not given their due share. On the other hand poor men of todays generation deserves some concessions, but the situation is totally opposite.
An employed woman usually do not marry an unemployed man. An employed man when marry an unemployed woman, the family runs on the earnings of the man. If employed women are allowed not to pay tax, men will definitely like to marry employed women. What will happen to unemployed women (forget about unemployed men, they are not entitled to survive)? They will have to work as domestic help, cook and child care firm. Really a great idea!
