This is to request RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar to investiagate about a firm ABS Land Development in Kolkata, West Bengal. I am sure he will be able to unearth much bigger scam here too. Fund raised by selling land parcels in different project agricultural land converted in NA but no possession of land provided as 12-15 years have already passed.

Real estate is a cesspool of corruption in India
by auryas on Jun 22, 2018 10:05 AM

Real estate is a mafioso like thing where all the shady elements of the society come together to create barely believable investment packages.

Any one who is a salaried employee or pensioner or small time business person should keep away from Real Estate like poison.

Not a single real estate project in India is transparent and free from frauud.

Good job Mr.Kumbhar. Hope Daal mein kaala nahin hai.

Usually, builders use these tactics on each other. They pull rug from under the fellow builder using RTI activists , by tipping the IT department and some cases through elaborate media coverage.

In any case what this chap said is true. "Without giving bribe just solve one problem in your life and you will see 125 crore problems will be solved automatically"

Frauds

When I was in middle school I saw people suffer when Swastik Rubber undermined the faith of middleclass low income investors.I heard and read about loan melas ( makwana fame ) . Continues rejig of loans of influential rich entities was always WIP. Crorers down the drain with failed ( by default or design ) continued unabated. Banking sector is as stressed as the agriculture sector. We common people have to take comfort that frauds are at least getting exposed.

Simple lesson

Don't invest in real estate. Just buy a home you are going to live in. Invest the rest of your money in large cap mutual funds or diversified mutual funds. Don't go for people who promise 12-14 percent returns. Mutual funds never promise to give 12-14 percent returns but if you remain invested for 10-15 years, most funds have delivered that much returns. Another thing is don't think you are the only smart or lucky person to get into an investment. 99.999 percent of the time if you think you are lucky or smart to get into such real estate or other too-good-to-be-true investments, you are going to lose all your money.

DSK Investors

It is a normal human mindset of people in Maharashtra that they get lured by promise of money getting doubled in a very short period. Unfortunately people who get fooled are educated lot. I aicm surprised that investors are not bothered about security of their principal amount. I always prefer to invest in LIC Bank FD and Post office. People get attracted by fancy ads and promises. Such instances have happened in past but investors have not learned their lessons.

DSK offered maximum 12% interest on bonds which was permitted by RBI. How DSK managed to get deposits is the main question. How DSK swallowed the entire money is to be investigated. The value of inventories and borrowed should be informed to the public.

Never invest in such bonds. If you want to invest in bonds, do so through mutual funds only. Bonds are extremely complicated investments.

Investing in LIC Bank FD and Post office is the other extreme. You might protect your principal but will earn nothing after accounting for inflation. After 20 years you will look at your balance and say, how can I retire with such a measly amount. And then you will fall for such frauds who promise 12% returns.

It is best to invest at least 25% of your money in large cap equity mutual funds and another 15-25% in diversified equity mutual funds. Use neutral websites like Value Research or Moneycontrol to identify good funds. With the remaining 50% of your money, put maximum allowable in PF or PPF and rest in buying a house to live in. Please ensure you buy at least 1 crore term insurance policy for the primary earner of the family. DOn't invest in insurance funds that give money back like ULIPs, etc.
