I don't know who these chindichor experts are promoting Rapid bus projects. Who the F**k wants to travel by buses? they use the same roads as private vehicles. Why should I travel by public transport if it'll take me around same time as private transport. Monorail is not successful because it is running in a comparatively less populated area with no proper source and destination. If this would've been in proper area with high density ingress / egress population. even this would've been successful.

Only natural disaster can replan metro cities...

Mumbai is city of slums and poor people. They are largest vote bank then who can risk in improving city infrastructure.

Only natural disaster or war can force city make over. Wait till then.

It seems there's a lobby against Monorail system in India. Given its low cost and minimum foot print its most suitable for narrow lanes and old city commuting.

Mumbai Monorail never took off due low political will otherwise journey from Chembur to Mahalaxmi would have been very convenient and time saving. It can turn with minimum radius as compared to Metro. Many Asian countries are running this service successfully.
It most suitable transport system for small and old cities instead we are busy constructing expensive Metros

Massive Scam

The whole monorail project was conceived with an intention to rake millions of rupees for the authorities who pushed for them. They could have continued with connecting the metro from ghatkopar into chembur and further on to lower parel. Anyway its a known fact that the country will continue to be plundered in the name of development for many more decades unless we can make examples of them. Ideally all the politicians and development experts who pushed for this project should be named and castrated in public. They are worse than traitors who will continue to bleed the country.

Its a ROUTE issue
by utpal chakraborty on Jul 26, 2018 10:05 AM  | Hide replies

Before criticizing the monorail we must see the utility of the metro rail connecting Ghatkopar and Versova.
We have 3 important rail lines like western central and harbour, and they are crowded.
The mono rail track should have been similarly connecting any two of the three important rail lines.
Present mono rail is moving parallel to the harbour line.
so less used.
