Too many assumptions by the writer that nothing great is going to happen. Well, lets not expect anything.

Those who are sitting on tons of money will not come without getting substantial in return.

Is India a good investment destination?
It is a better destination today than it was in the days of UPA.

Why PVN Rao and Deve Gowda got lukewarm response?
India was not considered a good investment destination then due to various reasons. Times have change since then. Those who see opportunities will come. There is no need to convince others.

Why Dr.Manmohan Singh never went to Davos should have been the question the writer could have attempted. but that would have dug out a lot of uncomfortable questions for which there is no answer or the answer is very obvious. Failure on all fronts would have been the clear answer. Dr.singh never made an effort in the first place. Those running the show during his tenure were more interested in personal gains and looting the country. So it was obvious that at Davos no one would have even bothered about talking to them.

You need to market yourself first, atleast some will look at you and may be listen. Modi is good at it; let him do that and then see if there is any one interested in his ideas. That will take some time. Without marketing well nothing can be sold. That includes India as a investment destination.

The author decided nothing is going to happen. Lets see what happens in the coming years.

Four years have already gone. How many more years will he take to show results on the ground? Nobody is going to invest in a hig tax high interest rate economy. First put the economic mess which this government has created in order.Investors will come on their own.

Marketing /Oratory skills don't deliver
by Faisal Ghalib on Jan 23, 2018 09:45 AM  | Hide replies

It is true world has started seeing Indian with a new view not because country has drastically transfromed as done by duo PV Narsimha and Dr. M M Singh, but because it is now headed by sewak who has oratory skills and acrobatic skills which results in no fruit. On ground Indian is making new lows on mostly all economic fronts. And sewak will try to impress world by speaking Demonitisation a success, discarded by nearly all Economist. Such type of speeches are OK with Bhakts not at Summit like Davos. Backhome chi media is there for all praises.

You know why INdia is not getting the investments it needs, because it has still not openned up to become a investment friendly environment. Why is it still not investment friendly, is because the head scratching congies, will not allow revolutionary policies to get passed. How can you ask someone to jump by holding down his feel to the ground. Gau rakshaks, and Dalit beatings have been there from many many years back and will continue to be so, until people change. So dont use that as a talking point.
