Kautilaya's Arth Shastra explicitly defines taxation that is ignored almost totally by most vitta mantries of Bharatvarsh.

If come tax is removed and only consumption tax and service tax maintained the budget will be a hype less. At least no need of tax return file for salaried income group it self will be big reform benefitting lots of citizen and reducing burden of IT staffs.

As a pensioner I will welcome the abolition of income tax, even if I have to pay under some other guise. Life atleast will be hassle free. However, will the step be ever taken? Republican senator Barry Goldwater promised to abolish income tax in USA if elected as president. We all know what happened to him.
