Clumsy!

This adds some more confusion to an already muddled up situation. At some level, the virtual number will be mapped to the actual Aadhaar number, and anyone having access to this virtual-to-actual database can potentially misuse it.
The whole mistake is to make Aadhaar so powerful by linking it to everything from one's birth to death.
Bigger the Aadhaar-linked data, more the compromise.
Delink Aadhaar, keep alternatives to Aadhar (PAN, Passport)and it loses capability of being misused.

How would the hacker access the database using virtual number, when the virtual number is itself changed? He will get the message "Invalid Virtual Number". Users canupdate their virtual aadhar number after each usage. Also one virtual number can be used only once, so it changes automatically after its usage.

Dear Nikhil,
Please note the wording:
'...virtual ID which will be valid for a defined period of time, or till the user decides to change it.'
This does not say that it will change each time, or quickly.

Secondly, a hacker, by definition is smarter than a normal user. You understand that somewhere in the system, there has to be a link between the virtual number and the real one. That's where exploitation is possible. A hacker MIGHT reach there.
My whole point is, any security system is can be cracked. What you must worry about is, how much information is then revealed. More the linkages, more the information available.
