see the population and of them how much give real tax then understand true picture. and for that how much premium is have to give that amount near about free . in general if we get 5 lac coverage for that yearly premium is rs 18000 plus so writer kindly tell enough and tell good do not make politics
Most salaried people get 5lakh family cover after paying 20000 per yr. So general population getting 5lakh cover is actually awesome. I know this money comes from tax of salaried people like some of us, but this is better than giving subsidy on petro and Diesel and giving SOPs to Electorate during elections (Read Amma TV, Computer, Scooty etc).
Fact of today's life is not people die or suicide because they earn less, they have to sell out huge money in heath, as may be child birth now 75% case is after operation, which creates big hole in poor's pocket. GOVT NEED TO ADDRESS these. 5 lacs is not bad for healthy family but instead of nil now they may claim 5Lacs through Hospital and soon we hear bogus hOspital claiming money leaving no money for real one. Our Politicians are running away from factual ground realiuties and Babus make faulty facts to ministers. THE NEED OF HOUR IS OPEN MORE MEDICAL COLLEGES, LET PEOPLE STUDY MEDICINE AND WHEN MORE DOCTORS ARE AVAILABLE THERE WILL BE LESS COST TO EDUCATION AND ALSO NO DONATIONS. we want to keep control on donations, check no of trust controlled by Politicians?/ SO do not blame Govt, people need to bi partisan and fight. It is fight of people which forcd Govt to reduce stent prices, all doctors and Hospital minted money. and also not paid taxes. WHat Govt says about that?? Ask Doctors body have they paid or their members even 50% paid correct taxes??/ THE REAL ANSWERS LIES THERE. We are now truly capitalist society, and HUMAN values gone for 6, I remember in my as child we used to visit Doctors in Jamshedpur, even Tickshaw puller used to go same doctors and they were not charging fees and giving free samples once known they are poor rickshaw fellows. Actually those small time clinics are still there and are doing free services as well. Like you said we need more of those. Also make all Medical colleges tution fee free. They should be paid by the govt. Today Dental colleges charges 10Lkah per year. Medical college 25Lak per yr. Obviously the doctor who had invested 1,00,00,000 for his entire college yrs will want to recover it. If it is free, then they dont get that obligation to recover and only serve with minimal fee (I wish). Also once doctor treatment is done and authorized by the patient based on the bill produced by the hospital, the linked insurance should kick in and disbursement shold be direct from that account to Doc or hospital account on that aadhaar. This is doable.

Medical education should be low cost... free education should be given to first 100 merit students...
Poor people cannot afford to bear the expenses of day-to-day medical expenses and the clinical or laboratory testing charges for which they have to spend from their pocket. Regarding hospitalization it should be made cashless to the poor after verifying their identity and eligibility. It should not be made reimbursable later, because those officers who will verify the medical bills will sit on the files and after taking bribe, will release the reimbursement. Even direct transfer will not work, because it will give way to corruption of officers who will move the files, sanction the reimbursement. Patients will have to part with a part of the money for fear of approaching them next time when they fall sick.

True, there should be no need to pay cash out. Everything should be bank to bank and tied to Aadhar of the person taking treatment. The details of the treatment should be locked only to the Medical Practitioner (all over india) and the patient and their Guardians. No one else should have access to this data. this means, no menacing sales pitch from pharmacies to buy medicines from them.

Muhammed, i am for once happy this is something the people get with out seeing it in their hands. I hate subsidy, but health insurance for people is good. Hopefully the minimum service level is maintained and the cost to treatment and medicine is frozen at reasonable levels. Salaried people like you and me get insurance from our company.
