It is sure that EV do not pollute . But if the power is generated by thermal plant or nuclear plant , the purpose is somehow defeated . Also look at battery disposal . All batteries are harmful Ni , Cd , Pb , acids etc . We need to be careful . solar /wind charging stations must be promoted in parallel . To make solar cheaper , Givt must take action to build huge factories to produce solar panels at cheaper rates . Also think of hybrid cars as one good alternative
Lot of two wheeler and four wheeler on Indian city roads,already chaotic and risky. Vehicular population beside human population needs to be monitored otherwise more accidents,more population and more non-peaceful and unhealthy life.
Dear Mr Gadkari, You are right in following the London model. I have lived there for 15 years. Please think about pavements along the London model too. Millions are dying because pedestrians have to walk on the road meant for cars/ buses etc. This is an urgent need. FOBs are useless.
