Are their not other tools than 'Aadhar' available with the government to catch the big economic offenders in order to expand its tax base? Is it necessary to throttle the citizenry in every possible conceivable way? Why should a common citizen allow his/her freedom and privacy to be flouted in this manner by submitting to the whims & fancies of the government? Not since independence have such harsh measures been sought to be put in place to check the citizens? Are we living in an autocratic or democratic set up that encourages self compliance as against coercive measures?
Why the government is hell bent and so much insistent to have its way vis-a-vis the Aadhar as an identity tool for Indian citizens in spite of its oft repeated cited vulnerabilities? What are the motives? Are their not other mechanisms already in place to monitor the citizens? Is creating a surveillance state to prey on the unsuspecting citizenry the real motive? Why so much money is being spent on Aadhar ads. by the government to convince the citizens against its infallibility?
